1. RS232 to RS485 converters are mostly used in industrial and commercial environments.
2. The reason is that RS485 converters can be used for multi-drop point networks, meaning you can connect multiple RS485 devices to one computer.
3. Up to 32 devices can be connected in a network to communicate over a single pair of wires (plus ground).
4. This type of communication is called half-duplex communication.
